I know, I know it's been two months since I've posted. I've been extremely busy, which is a good thing, but on the other hand, time to spend on my blog suffers.

I have been working on two painting projects for friends. One is a watercolor the other is a painting project on driftwood. This project is fun but challenges my imagination. Each piece of driftwood is different and beckons a specific idea. For example, this thin arced piece looked like mountains so that's what I painted.

This second piece looked to me like it should hang over or beside a cabin door or over an entryway so I painted "Welcome" on it, inviting anyone needing rest and friendship to enter in through the door to sit down and feel at home and comfortable!

I am having fun doing this project and seeing all the wonderful pieces of driftwood turn into unique works of art for someone special.

The watercolor I'm working on is also fun. It will be a gift for a special couple so I'm not going to post it yet. You'll have to wait until after the wedding then I will post it for you to see.

Until my next post, which I hope is in a couple weeks, may each of your days be filled with blessings!

Happy New Year!

We can finally say we are settled in our new home after two and half months. Wow I feel like I've been through a whirlwind. This has been the hardest move on me physically, more than I ever expected. We sorted, packed and moved 26 years of stuff, on top of that spent time looking for a new home all in less than 30 days! I can tell you it really took a toll on both my husband and me. Very glad all the hard work is done and we have free time to get to know our neighbors and surroundings.

We have had so much fun exploring the areas around us. Our house is about one minute from Tellico Lake, which is great for me as a kayaker. I love the water! Shopping is within 20 to 30 minutes away. Turkey Creek Mall with many great stores including a Super Walmart, Super Target a fabulous Amish furniture shop, and one of my favorites Fresh Market (similar to Whole Foods). There's also an Amish Farm Market about a thirty minute drive from us that is huge, but not open until early spring. I'm looking forward to heading there.

My next excursion will be with my camera, there is lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife surrounding our home. I mainly take photos for painting. Right now I'm working on a painting project for a close friend, painting scenes on driftwood. It's a tricky project but fun. So I'm looking at being busy with this project for at least three months.

The other morning we had some special guests for breakfast! They really enjoyed the food! LOL

Thanks for all your support and hopefully I'll have some additional photos to post for you of the area.
